Savannah, GA Mayor and Florida Mayors Discuss Resiliency Challenges in their Cities
FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA September 24, 2020 – The FAIR Foundation a Florida-based non-profit and champion for creating safer, stronger and more resilient communities through consumer education and empowerment, announced today that it will feature a Mayors Panel during the FAIR Foundation Virtual Conference Series- Building a Culture of Preparedness.
Ron Klein, former Florida Congressman, shareholder at Holland and Knight, and FAIR Foundation Board Member, will moderate the panel of Mayors as they discuss resiliency challenges in their cities. Mayor Jane Castor of Tampa, FL, Mayor Dan Gelber of Miami Beach, FL, Mayor Van R. Johnson of Savannah, GA, and Mayor Dean Trantalis of Fort Lauderdale, FL will join the virtual panel to discuss their cities efforts and challenges in dealing with sea-level rise and other climate events.
The six-week virtual conference series runs from September 23rd -October 29th and will provide solutions for stakeholders to unite and promote consumer education, resiliency through mitigation, improved disaster preparedness, closing the insurance protection gap, and developing action plans and strategies for meaningful progress and cultural change.
